Hooray for Long Weekends

Long weekends are lovely - every weekend should be one. Sadly, they all seem to be clustered in November, December, and January.

Saturday, my family and I went to Royal in Quincy for dinner to celebrate Jen and Phuong's engagement. Overall, I thought it was pretty good, for all you can eat.

Sunday, Tai and I went back to Pokeworks in Davis Square. I really like the place. No fuss, and fresh food.

Today, Richmond and I went to Dona Habana by Boston Medical. Parking is validated in the garage across the street for up to 2 hours, which is clutch in this area.

Drinks drinks drinks. Their drink menu is very extensive, and my mojito was strong. Definitely recommend.
Cubanitos - ehhh. Too bready, bland in some areas, super salty in others. Needed something - a kick, a sauce, a mustard. SOMETHING.
Goat cheese and spinach empanadas - interesting. The shell was like a thick crab rangoon shell. The filling was sparse though.
Plantain chips - I liked these, but didn't love the garlic butter sauce they came with. Actual mojo sauce is supposed to be citrusy, I think. This wasn't at all.
Grilled octopus - meh. Okay.
Tamal - dry. So dry.
Bread pudding - pretty good.

Come for drinks. And apps, maybe. Don't expect the food to blow you away.
