The menu.
My first drink ever with a pork rind.
Pimento cheese fritters - I don't say this often, but I wouldn't have minded a bit more marmalade on the side. Overall, decent. Not greasy. But not "I need to have this in my mouth" either.
Hog n' hooch biscuit - I somehow thought the pork would be more glazed. But I actually really liked the overall flavors of this dish.
My half rack of ribs (good), with cornbread (dry, hard) and mac and cheese (good enough).
Thu's bourbon brined chicken (dry), with collard greens (really good and sweet) and dirty rice (I really liked the rice, not sure if Thu did).
Georgie's peach crumble pie, with a scoop of malted vanilla ice cream - no, no, and no. It's so rare for me to meet a pie crust I do not like, but they've succeeded. And the crumble was not good. And the filling was meh. Just so sad.
So I revise my previous statement slightly. Come here. Make reservations. Skip dessert. I'm zero for two, and I'm not sure I'm willing to try for a third.
BONUS:
I also went with my family for lunch earlier in the day to Fuji's in North Quincy (Winsor Dim Sum had an hour wait). DO NOT GO HERE. Note to self: DO NOT COME BACK. Awful. On one of the hottest days, the AC is not working. The food came out at all sort of different times. They forgot a dish. I do not know what happened, if there was a change in ownership or something, but ugh. Never again.
