If Ever There Were a Day for Wine...

It'd be Mother's Day. Seriously. Traffic ALL day. And everywhere is just a madhouse. But, we do the dutiful thing and run around picking up flowers for my mom, cake for Tai's. Groceries for ourselves.

But first, lunch at Hmart:
Unagi bento box - so ridiculously filling. We also got a sushi and sashimi combo, but I was too hungry and forgot to take a picture.

After several hours of running around, we get to Ming's in Malden for dinner. Only, they don't have our reservation. Thankfully, it's early and they have a table for us.

Seafood soup - delicious, as always.
Fried calamari - this was not as warm/crispy as it should have been.
Dungeness crab - could not tell you how this was, but Tai approves.
Water spinach - definitely not pea pod stems :(
Mayo shrimp with fried milk - finally! So good. Though the shrimp wasn't as crispy.
Beef chow foon - again, Tai approves. It was good though.
Duck with mashed taro - grandma really approves. I had a small piece of the duck and it was delectably crisp.

But really, don't go out on Mother's Day if you can avoid it. And if you do have to go, go early. And drink, if you can.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers! :)
