Cinco de Mayo and Sushi

Cinco de Mayo means tacos and margaritas in this world. And since I had already made plans for dinner, Chris, Ana, Lourry and I went to Tavitas in South Station for lunch.

Chipotle agave wings - the dipping sauce is really great. The wings are not bad either.
Mexican street corn - pretty good, but it could have spent a few more minutes on the grill.
My tacos with carnitas - I feel like they stuffed them too much. And some of the meat was really hard.
Ana's walking tacos.

 Chris's burrito.

Lourry got tacos as well, but my picture of it came out blurry. Tavitas really owes its success to its location. And probably the after-work bar scene. But they're doing something right, because I am here more often than I care to admit.

After work, I met Richmond for dinner at Genki Ya in the Theatre District. I haven't been here in a while, and the menu looks different.

Spicy tuna salad - meh. Too much panko. And definitely not spicy.
Alligator maki, rich salmon maki, sweet potato tempura maki. These were all pretty good, and really filling.

Definitely not a bad spot in the area. Tables are a bit close, which is awkward when you can hear the entire conversation next to you. And I'd probably stick to wine instead of a mixed drink next time. But solid otherwise.
