It's my birthday, I can eat where I want to. And for this birthday, I choose Sarma. And for a frigid Sunday, Sarma is busy. But I love the vibe, the music, and the helpful servers.
One of two chef whims that came by today, the lovely fried chicken (the other was a beet something or other, and well, no thank you). This dish is delightfully fried and crispy and tender.
Pork belly biscuits - yum
Meatball saganaki - I was expecting a much smaller portion. It was huge. Good, but I felt like I couldn't eat a ton of it.
Brussels sprouts brava (with chorizo) - I remember getting this last time and thinking the same thing, that there's a bit too much going on.
Salmon ceviche - light and refreshing, great after the other dishes
I wish I had balanced our dishes out better. But Sarma is really fantastic. Go with more people, try more things.
