Summa Summa Summatime

Post-vacation blues are a real thing, guys. Especially when you come back to work and are given a task you thought you'd handed off prior to going on vacation.

Things that help though? Corner rooms at hotels:

Dinner at Fleming's helps too, I suppose:

Housemade burrata
Christina's salmon
French onion soup

And then when you're stuck at work super late, it's nice to have a place to eat (although options are few and far between).

Some sandwich or other from The Malted Barley. All their sandwiches are served on pretzels.

And meeting with friends at new places is always great; in this case, the venue of choice was City Tap in Seaport.

Street corn dip
Cauliflower something?
Corn and crab hushpuppies
Ten spice wings
Blue crab mac and cheese
Honey and goat cheese flatbread

Lunch at Nordstrom Bistro:

Followed by dessert from Coco Leaf
Dinner with Tai's family at Royal Hotpot

A day trip to Portsmouth during fourth of July weekend:

And going to your staples always does wonders. Here we are at Pikaichi:

This is a chapel that was turned into a restaurant, hence the name Chapel Grille. The restaurant was nice, but food was meh. And it was super dark inside so no pictures of food.

Vy Eats in London

Finally! After a lot of frustration, I think my pictures from Europe are finally in one place. So I might be playing catch up this weekend.

London! London was...not as hot as Paris, not as much of a food scene, but a really nice, walk-able city where I could communicate with people.

Let's see what I can remember 4 months later. Sadly, a lot of places in London (Windsor Castle, St. Paul's Cathedral) didn't allow for pictures inside. So I don't have as much to share. But I really enjoyed the city and would love to go back.

On the train Paris to London
And once there, I immediately think, Harry Potter
Bubble tea shop across the street from our AirBnB
I get to experience these in real life! It was very hot and gross inside. Do not recommend on a humid day.
Bond street
Royal guard Mickey
A bar in a department store (Selfridges). Pure genius. And quite classy, too.

Dinner at Roti Chai. I don't remember the details, but the restaurant was busy and modern. The food was quite good.

 So pretty lit up.
Beatlems?
Mango dessert from the place across the street.
Oatmeal and smoked salmon poached egg from Leon
National Gallery in London
The London Eye (more of these later)

Lunch at Byward Kitchen & Bar:

Fancy stick figures
Cloudy day
View from the Eye
Such a strange attraction, but it's a thing. And you do get a great view of the city. I do wish it went a tad bit quicker though.
Mind the Gap. Off to Windsor Castle.
How do they see?!

Lunch at The King and Castle in Windsor:

Back in London, where we find the Queen has a gold coach

Dinner at The Ivy, where the drinks are the reason to come by:

I think we found a random cafe for breakfast:

And then we climbed to the top of St. Paul's:

And then walked over to Tower Bridge, where we got to see it lift:

Lunch at Anchor Tap:

Crepes!

Dinner at Tonkotsu, which was okay. I've had better.

And that was it! Back on a plane headed home.

Milk in a stick?

That is not a great summary of my time in London. I feel like we did so much more! A lot of walking to different neighborhoods. Some shopping. Maybe I was tired of taking pictures at this point. *Sigh
