So I've been slacking a bit, sorry. Not because I haven't been dining out, but because I haven't been dining anywhere new, really. Well, that's a lie. Because I have been trying all sorts of new places for lunch. Thanks to a new job in the city.
A few things of note from the past few weeks:
- Boston Common Coffee Company has a delicious nutella latte. Life changing. It was that good.
- The Starbucks in South Station train station has ridiculously high prices - as in, higher than a regular Starbucks. Sometimes, you just want your latte. But buyer beware.
- The Corner Mall food court downtown is even sadder than I remember. But it now has bubble tea.
- Sichuan Garden in Brookline is not worth going to. Make the drive to Woburn and you won't be disappointed like I was.
- Bon Me is not nearly as good (or as Vietnamese - sht, not Vietnamese at all, actually) as I was told it would be. Meh.
And now, some of the things I've eaten recently:
Conch fritters - so good we got another order.
Cajun fries - Tai loved these. But you could put cajun spices on almost anything and he'd love it.
Meatballs - surprisingly good.
Calamari - not bad.
Chicken skewer - okay too.
Fish taco - wouldn't do it again. The taco shell was supposedly warmed but then got cold and it was just weird.
Pierogies - they look like pierogies, but they're really just garlic dumplings in disguise.
Beef skewer - also okay.
Oysters - 50 cents each. How can you possibly complain? They were actually pretty decent.
Chicken cordon bleu bites - not bad. I would have preferred a mustard of some sort over that awfully unappealing gravy.
Bacon wrapped scallop - scallop, mochi, same sht apparently.
And more oysters. Because, why not?
Vy eats at Logan airport - chicken meatball pizza - decent enough for quick airport food, especially when you need something to soak up the wine you've been downing. Yay travelling.
Vy eats at Buffalo Niagara airport - spicy bbq wings - because what's a trip to Buffalo without some wings?
Grilled artichoke hearts - lamb chops, you are not. But pretty tasty anyway.
Half Tuscan sausage, half prosciutto and fig - I really enjoyed the pizza. The balsamic glaze on the fig side was delicious. And the ricotta on the sausage side was fantastic.
Here's to 2016! Hopefully it's filled with more good food to share! :)
